Erasmus ton sends Bonbeach south

Jarrad Dowling's 101 helped Bentleigh past McKinnon on the weekend

 

In a round in support of Prostate Cancer and played over Saturday and Sunday, it was South Caulfield's import Brad Erasmus (124) setting the standard with his second consecutive century (121 the previous week). With support from Jye Sampson (80), the young Englishman steeredSouth Caulfield to 8/318(cc)as they went on to defeat Bonbeach 256 (Shanuka Dulaj 153); Erasmus completing his game with 2/40.

Jarrad Dowling (101, pictured above) had Bentleigh off to a flyer, and would be disappointed to have seen the side all out 240 (S Jeffree 54; W King 4/63) after a number of batters getting starts, witha mini collapse at the end of the innings, but it was plenty as the Demonseasily accounted forMcKinnon 113 (R Ekanayake 6/32) and 3/64.

 

At Gerry Green Reserve, Carnegie picked up their first win of the season, winningthe toss, electing to batand made 239 (A Bhatt 64, T Gandhi 57). Their bowlers thenmade quick work of Parkdale, all out 87 (R Chauhan 4/8, T Brahmbhatt 4/35) and batting again made 1/82 (G Galloway 57*) before stumps were pulled.

 

Hampton (191)(H Allen 73, S Day 55; L Klasen 5/39) also made it's way onto the winners when they defeated the top-of-the-ladder Beaumaris 123 (D Forbes 6/28, A Brewster 4/28);

 

In Division 1,Old Mentonians 9/285(cc) (D Russo 74; B Kruger 4/56) defeated Murrumbeena 257 (S Wijeyeratne 97);Mentone 177 defeated Middle Park 112 and 1/29.Bayside 191 (N Oxley 82; S Eastwood 4/58) accounted for Chelsea 179 (D Vandergert 95) and Brighton Dist 241 (K Heigl 89*, A Lasky 67; H Dale 6/51) knocked over Aspendale 124 (T Williamson 5/39);

The Under 21's are out to defend our title. Commencing this Sunday at Jack Barker Oval, Cheltenham, we take on the Mornington Peninsula C.A. in a one-day match.

Congratulations to Beaurmaris' Cam Watts on being appointed captain of the side after his great leadership last summer which contributed significantly to us winning the title.

The team will be announced shortly. Match commences at 10am, drop in and give the team some support.

Matches against the ECA at Beaumaris and the VTCA at Gerry Green - Parkdale follow in the coming weeks

 

 

 

 

Great to see Cricket Blast kids from Mentone, Parkdale and Bonbeach Cricket Clubs getting their chance on the "G" this Friday night when Australia take on India in a T20.Make sure to give them an extra cheer!!

 

 

 

 

The CV Super Slam gets underway this weekend. Details on the Super Slam program can be found by clicking the link below. The Melbourne Cricket Club is hosting a T20 double header at the Beaumaris Secondary College on Wednesday 5th December when the Men take on Geelong and the Women take on Essendon Maribyrnong Park. This season's opening WBBL round is being held at the Junction Oval Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December.

2 games per day, Scorchers and Hurricanes 10:40am Saturday, followed by Stars v Sixers. Then on Sunday its the Strikers v the Heat at 10:40am followed by the Gades v Thunder.
