Erasmus heats up Southern Bayside

South Caulfield's import Brad Erasmus, has made it a hat trick of tons with his 104* against McKinnon last Saturday.

With the white ball season finally getting underway, McKinnon skipper Rohan Best won the toss, batted and top scored batting at 8, with 47*, taking the Heat to 8/176(cc). Erasmus with Lewis Mildenhall (58) took control of the chase, all over in the 31st over, South 2/180.

Beaumaris skipper Sam Coateswith his second ton of the season has Beaumaris sitting on top of the ladder with a big white ball challenge this weekend as they take on South Caulfield at Princes Park. Withsupport from Chris Hall (67),the experienced pair saw Beauie to 6/266(cc) and a big win over reigning premiers Bentleigh 8/153 (cc). Coates' earlier century came against Southin the red ball two-day match,and this gamewill provide a great litmus test for the Sharks.

The Championship's third century came from Parkdale's new coachDavid Nankervis108*,his first for Parkdale in their loss to Hampton. In the remaining Championship game Bonbeach took23 overs, losingonly a single wicket in chasing down Carnegie's 117.

In Division 1, Mentone are clear on top of the ladder after accounting for Brighton District at the weekend. The Tigers bowlers shared the spoils around and the batters made light work of the chase, losing only 2 wickets to the Dragons as they chased down the total with overs to spare. In a high scoring affair at Regents Park, the divisions leading run scorers in Bayside's Nick Oxleyand the Dales Liam Hulett both got amongst it, with the Stingrays falling short in a tight game by 2 runs with one wicket in hand.

In CSBW, Richmond City 7/111 were defeated by Carnegie 5/117 (S Condron 31*); Omega andParkdale's match has been rescheduled to a double header on January 20th due to Youth Premier League commitments, whilst in Division 2, Aspendale had a big win7/109(cc) overBentleigh8/30; whilst East Malvern Tooronga 0/66 defeated the emerging Cluden side8/65.

Cluden have a big day planned for female cricket this weekend hosting their Maddie Riewoldt fundraiser, starting at 9am with the U12 girls, 1:30 the CBSW match v Bentleigh and then an U13 T10 match at 3:30pm.

The Under 21's representativematch against the Eastern Cricket Association was cancelled as a result of Saturday night's rain. The next match is at Gerry Green on the 16th December against the VTCA.
