McKinnon shows us their Best

McKinnon led by their skipper Rohan Best broke through for their first win of the season, comprehensively accounting for Bentleigh,

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Heat found themselves in early trouble at 4/24, however Best and Ashlin Streker (61) set about rebuilding the innings as the pair added 97 for the 5th wicket before Best was dismissed for a swashbuckling 64. Brad Dolan (26) and Cameron Stewart (20*) provided useful contribution to see the Heatfinish at 9/222 from their overs. Jarrad Dowling (4/46) was the early destroyer for the Demons. In reply, Bentleigh were immediately on the back foot having lost two early wickets and were never able to recover to finish at9/164. Dowling (35) & Sam Mousazki (29*) were the best with the bat, whilst YuriRyaboshapka (3/33) tormented with the ball.

South Caulfield prevailed in the top-of-the table clash with Beaumaris. Chasing Beaumaris's 8/192, Brad Erasmus (73) and Lewis Mildenhall (68) picked up from where the left off last week to see their side home. Sam Coates (79) was again in the runs, whilst Luke Klasen (4/28) continued his great start to the season.

Carnegie's bowlers caused early carnage in their win against Parkdale, as the hosts dismissed the Dales for 129. Tatsatt Brambhatt (4/11) and Bimal Shah (3/22) caused plenty of headaches, whilst David Nankervis (44) was the only batter to get going. In reply, Carnegie cruised to the total in the 29th over with 4 wickets in hand. Bonbeach made light work of Hampton dismissing them for 100 and chasing down the total for the loss of just 2 wickets.Andrew Mackessack (3/13) & Dave Fernandez (36*) the stars for the Sharks.

In Division 1, Troy Lamb (72) & Jimmy Handley (55* & 4/29) led Murrumbeena to a comfortable win against Mentone who had Lewis Oliver (78) play a lone hand with the bat. Middle Park (8/182) prevailed in anail-biter against Bayside (9/181) and Brighton District (3/178) chased down Old Mentonians (7/177) with just 9 balls to spare. Aspendale chased down Chelsea's 8/221 despite the Seagulls putting on 124 for the first wicket (Sean Vandergert 69 & Dirk Vandergert 64).

InCSBW Division 1, we were treated to two firsts! The first match played on turf as Carnegie (4/175) accounted for Parkdale (6/95) at Koornang Park. Susie Condron (43*) andPenny Callaghan (36*) led the way for the Negie, whilstSascha Pribil (25*) was the leading scorer for Parkdale. Omega (5/116) and Richmond City (6/116) played out the first tie of the competition.Cindy Asselman (33*) &Paris Penny (27*) led the way with the willow for the Tigers.

In Division 2, East Malvern Tooronga (4/91) proved too strong for Aspendale (7/88) despite the efforts of Lauren Fields (35*) &Kath Aistrope (24*)and Bentleigh (5/126) accounted for Cluden (83) in the Maddie's Vision Day atWilliam Street.

CSB Men's & Womens Representative Matches

On Sunday 17 February 2019, the inaugural CSB v SECARepresentative Match will take placeat Gerry Green Reserve, Parkdale at 12:30pm.

On Friday 22 February 2019, the inaugural CSBW v NMCA Representative Match will take place at Ruthven Reserve, Preston at 6:00pm.

Under 21s & South Caulfield in action on Sunday

The CSB Under 21s will take on the VTCA this weekend, and are playingfor a spot in the Wright Shield Semi Finals.The match kicks off on Sunday at Gerry Green Reserve at 10am.

South Caulfield will take on Berwick in the Regional Big Bash Quarter Final at AH Butler Reserve, Frankston at 11am.

If you are looking for something to do, feel free to drop by either match as they are sure to be a great contest.
