The inaugural Battle of Bayside took place on Sunday in perfect conditions for cricket. Whilst the result didn't go CSB's way, the day was a fantastic showcase of the talent within both SECA and our competition. CSB posted a healthy 185 with Vinay Tripathi (34), Rob Ciccarella (33), Chris Hall (28) & Sam Coates (27) all getting starts. Unfortunately, South Caulfield's Kanishka Alvitigala was forced from the field after completing asingle with a hamstring injury. In reply, CSB were on the cusp of victory before an unbeaten 43-run stand for the 9th wicket lifted SECA to victory. Vinay Tripathi (3/25), Jordan Hesline (3/30), Dan Mueller (1/32) and Luke Klasen (1/14) were the wicket takers. Carnegie's Vinay Tripathi was named CSB's Player of the Match by the umpires, whilst Clint Tomlinson was adjudged SECA's Player of the Match. The CSBW vs NMCA Representative Match is this Friday Night (22nd Feb) at Ruthven Reserve, Preston starting at 6pm.
