T20 Competition launched
Date of Event Cricket Southern Bayside: Fri Oct 18, 2019 2:37PM

T20 cricket is back in CSB this season, albeit with a whole new look!

This season will see all games played on Tuesday nights, moving away from Saturdays and as a stand alone competition. This allows more games of cricket to be played throughout the season and the opportunity for clubs to host midweek, twilight, pink-ball cricket!

In an exciting first for CSB, each team will be allowed one marquee player to add a further 'punch' to the competition.

Each team will play three pool games through November and December this year, with qualifying finals to take place on 17 December. Semi finals will be played on 14 January with the grand final to be played on 21 January, with the winner representing CSB in the Cricket Victoria Regional Big Bash.

The divisions will all be geographically based. Not only does this cut down on travel, but it also promotes local rivalries and gives the chance for teams in different divisions the opportunity to go head-to-head in a battle for local supremacy.

For this competition, we welcome two new teams. Maccabi AJAX enter the fold and will take on Middle Park, South Caulfield and Port Melbourne in their pool games. We also see Premier Cricket club Monash Tigers enter their academy eleven into the competition to meet Murrumbeena, Clayton District and Carnegie.

Our Media Partners at GameFace will be live streaming a 'Match of the Round' on Facebook throughout the competition.

Good luck to all teams!
